This list is subject to updates based on constantly changing legal and regulatory frameworks. Users should verify their eligibility regularly, as Gate.io reserves the right to restrict or terminate services in additional regions without prior notice.

Does Gate.io Require KYC?

Gate.io requires identity verification (KYC) for all deposits and withdrawals. Users must submit a government-issued ID and a live selfie to access platform services and higher withdrawal limits.

Steps in Completing Know Your Customer (KYC):

• Required for Deposits and Withdrawals: Users must complete KYC before transacting. Flagged withdrawals may need additional verification.

If uploads fail, users should check the file format, switch networks, use another Gate.io domain, or try the mobile app. Support requests can be submitted through Gate.io’s help center.

Is Gate.io Allowed in the US?

No, Gate.io has been unavailable in the United States since early 2022 due to regulatory restrictions. The platform explicitly blocks U.S. residents from accessing its services, requiring affected users to withdraw funds and close all positions before account termination.

While Gate US was announced as a regulated alternative in late 2022, it has yet to launch. Some users attempting to access Gate.io with a VPN have reported detection and account restrictions, making it risky for U.S. residents to trade on the platform.
